A Note to Seniors
Many of you remember the days when Burlington had many forests, fields, open spaces and farms. These where halcyon days when industry, agriculture and our many forests lived side by side, and one could enjoy the benefits of both urban and rural life. Now, Burlington has changed. High tech has boomed and Route 128 has become the super highway of the so-called information and bio-tech age. This is a good thing, but much has been lost. Now, we talk of Burlington being “built out,” reaching capacity. Townspeople are living in a completely paved, fast food world.
Imagine your grandchildren, and their grandchildren. What sort of legacy would you like to leave with them? What sort of town will they inhabit once they have their own families? This is your chance to preserve one of the last vestiges of Burlington’s woodlands and meadows. Imagine your grandkids and great-grandkids exploring and playing. Are they playing in a sterile city park or are they wandering the dense forest trails, discovering the beauty that nature beholds? This is your choice, and once made the choice is forever.
